Tiwa's 'HEN NIGHT' and Peter Okoye's STAR STUDDED Wedding

Weekends are often the times we take a break from our week day habits. We go for events, attend weddings, rest or HAVE A BLAST!!
This was the choice opted for this past weekend by some of our favourite celebrities who attended the much anticipated wedding of Peter Okoye to fiancée, Lola Omotayo and of course, Tiwa Savage‘s ‘hen party’ (her bachelorette). Updates and pictures from this events have no doubt left our phones and minds dazzled.
Both events managed to occur in the space of one weekend but somehow, still maintained their individual awe and controversies. Tiwa’s bachelorette (“hen night” as it was termed) was the first in these series of event. It took place this past Saturday, the 16th of November 2013 at Ikoyi. The venue was packed full of Nigeria’s hottest celebs, friends and of course, well wishers all clad in their nighties.
The list of guests included OAP Toolz, Emma Nyra, Toke Makinwa (whose outfit was nothing short of stunning!)
and a host of other guests, which included some up and coming stars. Since the dress code of the hen night saw guests arriving in their nighties, we can imagine there must have been a whole lot of laughter and admiration. The whole thing could easily have passed for a Halloween party where everyone had to come dressed in their favourite night wear.
Of course, the highlight of the night was the presence of the eye candies drafted for the viewing pleasure of the guests. Yes, I’m talking about the strippers who danced and rocked the night away to the enjoyment and no doubt amazement of Tiwa and her guests. I cannot honestly complain about this event, I mean, it was purely harmless and entertaining fun. Definitely a night to remember, and in fact, I wish I could have been present… at least to be a part of the stripper experience.
Tiwa’s traditional marriage is slated for the 23rd of November 2013, and her white wedding is to take place in 2014, somewhere outside our shores… of course.
CONGRATS GIRL!!

The weekend was however far from over for our celebs, as the very next day, Peter Okoye, one of the very hot Okoye brothers tied the knots, albeit traditionally with fiancée Lola Omotayo at the Arc Event Centre in Lekki on Sunday. Peter apparently missed his Bachelor party on Friday as he was in Ghana at the time, and only returned to Lagos, Nigeria in the early hours of Sunday for his wedding.

In attendance were some of Nigeria’s finest celebs such as Kate Henshaw, Nonso Diobi, Dr. Sid, Don Jazzy, May D, Funk Akindele, Toyin Lawani (celebrity stylist), Emmanuel Adebayor, Kline De Drunk and his extremely beautiful wife, Karen Igho (Ex BBA star), Gbenga Adeyinka, Vast of Bracket, Banky W, D.J. Jimmy Jatt and a host of other celebrities.
D’banj the koko master himself was however absent but did not fail to take to Twitter to air his regrets. He tweeted ; “Loved the show but now I’m stuck here as No flights out today and noww I’m missing my brother’s wedding @PeterPsquare.”
He initially had tweeted; “This is the time I really wish I had that jet. I swear whosoever said it was a luxury lied. It’s a Necessity and God go do am
(We pray along with you oga sir, but please, manage to contribute your quota to our development as well. Government no dey work, the country, na all of us get am oh!)
This event, of course was blogged about, written about and spoken about on a very large scale by the majority of the Nigerian populace. On the top of the blogging gist however was the reported absence of Jude and Paul Okoye at the wedding.
Later however, pictures of Paul with his son in attendance at his twin’s wedding have floated unto the Internet, and the controversial picture of Jude Okoye and Wizkid at Mavin Studios which was posted on Instagram by  Don Jazzy (which of course, inexplicably had a lot of people concluding that Jude had missed the wedding, was actually posted on the 16th of November 2013, one whole day before the wedding.
This fact in essence, discredits that assertion and reports have emerged that Jude was in fact stuck in Ghana after their Saturday night show and couldn’t make it back in time for the wedding.
My sincerest congratulations goes to the couples of the hour, and it’s my prayer that they are blessed with a long, happy and fulfilled marriage.
I also ask of God, that whatever had made Lola not smile as often as she should have on one of the most important days of her life never manifest itself again, at least not on the wedding day proper. Amen oh!!
